A 2-day workshop in research ethics was held at University of Medicine 1 today in Yangon. Prof Pe Thet Khin gave the opening speech and also gave a presentation on Conflict of Interest. Dr. Henry Silverman from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, USA, gave a presentation of “Why Research Ethics?”. A particular aspect of this conference was that many of the presentations incorporated active learning techniques. The Rector of University of Medicine 1, Professor Zaw Was Soe, will give the closing speech on April 25.
It is a very productive workshop for faculty members of Myanmar medical schools.
